Sloane & Company (“Sloane”) is looking for a driven, self-starter to join the team as a People Operations Manager. This role will support Sloane & Company's leadership in building and retaining an exceptional team. Additionally, this role will work closely with Sloane's partner organizations, SKDK.
Applicants must be based in our New York office and willing to adhere to our hybrid office policy (in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
Strategic Leadership
Work alongside our Senior Operations Advisor as proactive thought partners and strategic counsel to senior leadership on organizational health, change management, and strategic decisions.
Liaise with employees on the development of a growth-minded, innovative, and collaborative culture.
Partner with leadership and Senior Operations Advisor on firmwide communications strategy to enrich company culture and weave in mission, vision, and values.
Provide strategic advice and counsel to the COO on decisions and opportunities across agencies.
Liaise with SKDK and Stagwell People Team leaders to deliver best-in-class content, resources, benefits, and support to Sloane and SKDK.
Lead or assist special HR or operations projects.
HR Business Partnership
Develop effective relationships that foster trust within the firm to support the HR needs of the organization, and act as a primary resource for all staff.
Support and guide managers and leadership through personnel management, including ongoing performance management, employee relations, and talent development.
Equip managers with tools, training and guidance for effective one-on-ones, performance reviews, and ongoing feedback with their teams.
Employee Relations and Talent Management
Set strategic priorities for attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent.
Work with Senior Operations advisor to ID and implement sustainable, scalable processes and activities aligned toward achieving strategic employee retention objectives.
Supervise the annual review cycle to ensure a consistent employee experience and facilitate the process each year.
Maintain, create, and amend employee policies based on competitive trends and compliance requirements.
Review current compensation structure, analyze pay relative to internal peer group and leverage the analysis to inform and establish a compensation philosophy and pay bands.
Coordinate with company leadership on compensation and promotion structure to ensure pay equity and employee growth.
Recruitment & Staffing
Partner with Senior Operations Advisor, senior leaders, COO, and CFO to formulate a strategic staffing plan that aligns with the organization’s long-term goals and financial outlook.
Lead the summer internship program by recruiting interns, coordinating professional development opportunities, and facilitating a supportive environment for interns.
Oversee the full life cycle of recruitment and liaise with external recruiters on the hiring process, including job postings, screening, scheduling interviews, background checks, checking references, and structuring offers.
Supervise and strategize with Senior Operations Advisor on effective onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring seamless integration of new hires into the organization and facilitating a smooth transition for departing employees.
6+ years of experience in an HR position, including HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, or People Operations Manager.
Experience with leading HR and operations processes for an entrepreneurial and growth-minded organization.
Proven ability to communicate and partner with senior leaders to develop organizational strategy.
Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Self-motivation, the ability to work independently and proactively, as well as the ability to be resourceful to senior leaders and staff.
Experience managing multiple projects and the ability to handle competing deadlines.
Ability to adapt and respond quickly to changing landscapes, and to work well under pressure.
Maintains a high level of emotional intelligence and excels in managing situations diplomatically.

Sloane is committed to pay equity. The Company believes the target base compensation in this role is $100,000-$130,000. In addition to base salary, Sloane considers other key components as part of total compensation, including but not limited to annual discretionary bonus, commission on new business, PTO, and a comprehensive benefits package. Actual base compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, such as skillset, level of experience, and location.
