SKDK, an award-winning public affairs and political advertising agency, is looking for a driven, self-starter to join its public affairs team as Vice President. As a Vice President, you will work with corporate, association, nonprofit, and advocacy clients, ensuring the firm delivers creative, impactful solutions that help our clients achieve their goals. We are looking for a go-getter who loves to work with reporters to land big stories. 

Responsibilities

A Vice President’s job responsibilities include: 

  • Leading client teams. 
  • Managing junior team members, with input from senior leaders. 
  • Working with the team to develop multifaceted communications plans. 
  • Leading internal process driving towards client goals. 
  • Overseeing team deliverables to ensure the highest quality. 
  • Securing and managing coverage in local and national print and broadcast outlets. 
  • Developing and maintaining booker, producer, and reporter relationships. 
  • Serving as a thought leader to meet client goals. 
  • Participating in new business development by generating business ideas and leading and drafting new business proposals. 

Qualifications

A successful candidate will have: 

  • 8-10+ years of relevant experience in writing, research, and media-intensive positions such as political campaigns, news organizations, government or agency work. 
  • Strong experience placing top tier national print and broadcast stories, as well as working closely with reporters, producers and correspondents. 
  • Strong writing and research skills with thorough knowledge of AP Style. 
  • A working knowledge of social media strategies for communications campaigns. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.  
  • The ability to effectively manage multiple projects and handle competing deadlines. 

Benefits

SKDK is committed to pay equity. SKDK believes the target base compensation in this role is between $115,000-$150,000. In addition to base salary, SKDK considers other key components as part of total compensation, including but not limited to an annual discretionary bonus, commission on new business, and a comprehensive benefits package. Actual base compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors, such as skillset, level of experience, and location.
